The church was erected in the years 1796–1797 according to the design by the local architect N. von Gnaisenau. The interior of the church was not preserved and today serves as the gym for the local school. The church is closely associated with the history of the Duchy, since it was erected on the site and with the use of the elements of the former Renaissance palace of the Duke. The palace, erected in ca. 1500, was the summer residence of the Dukes of Münsterberg, and Dowager Duchesses. In the cellars and the wall, you can find the remains (stonework) from the old Duke's palace.
