The origins of the stronghold in Witostowice date back to 1222. The castle was then remodelled in Renaissance style. A double moat surrounds the Witostowice castle. Between the moats, a defensive wall with embrasures and corner towers was located. In the 15th and 16th Century, the castle was owned by the Stoss family, relatives of the famous sculptor Veit Stoss. In the 13th Century, it was taken over by Cistercian monks from Henryków. The castle, located among picturesque ponds and with preserved sections of bastiles, is a great example of a Silesian nobility residence. Today, it is partially ruined.
