Duchy of Münsterberg

In the vast English landscape park, at the top of the hill, a magnificent palace was built between 1838 and 1865, designed by the famous Prussian architect, Karl Friedrich Schinkl. The picturesque, Neogothic building, erected thanks to the efforts of Princess Marianne of the Netherlands, and until 1945 was the residence of the House of Hohenzollern. The palace was devastated by the Soviet troops and pillaged by looters. Today, it is still in ruins, but efforts have been made for years to restore it to its former glory. In the palace park, there is the tomb of the House of Hohenzollern.
