Town Park in Münsterberg

Ziębice

The Park is a textbook example of early revegetation of post-industrial areas. At the end of the 19th Century, clay extraction for the local ceramics plant ended. Thanks to the efforts of the local Town Beautification Society, and the donation of land to the town by the Schottländer family, an enchanting little park was established on the former extraction site. Picturesque alleys winding through small hills.

In the park, there are the water tower (known as the Water Castle) and the statue of the Piast Eagle, made by Tadeusz Teller and placed in 1971 on a hill with a beautiful vista of the town and its surrounding areas.

The Park is named after Stanisław Firlej – a Münsterberg citizen and social activist, who in the years 1962–79 served as the manager of the Ceramic Machinery and Stoneware Plant. On his initiative, the Plant created the Piast Eagle statue in the Park.
