The town hall interior is decorated with frescos by Alfred Gottwald (1893–1971). On the first floor of the town hall corridor you can see pictures from the times when the town was the Duchy capital. Among them are scenes depicting the granting of borough rights by Henry III the White, Duke of Breslau, but most importantly, the scene of the death of Duke John of Münsterberg during the Battle of Stary Wielisław on 27 December 1428. On the ground floor, there is a scene of Duke Bolko II quarrelling with the town market stallholders.
The current town hall of Münsterberg is the third in the town’s history. The two previous town halls were located exactly on the same site. The town hall’s appearance today is the result of extensive remodelling which was completed in 1890. As part of the remodelling, the old Renaissance building was almost completely razed, leaving only the tower erected in 1561. On the foundations of the old building, the current town hall edifice was built. The current town hall also has notable Cistercian features, so characteristic for the Duchy of Münsterberg. In 1927, as part of the celebration of the 700th anniversary of the Cistercians’ arrival to the nearby Henryków, the town hall corridors were decorated with Alfred Gottwald’s frescos and with stained-glass windows, including the image of monks from the local monasteries, i.e. a Knight of the Cross with the Red Star, a Franciscan and a Cistercian.
Today, the town hall is the home of Poland’s only Museum of Household Appliances.
